Information Tracked

We use your IP address to help diagnose problems with our server and to administer our web site. We also track browser types to help us understand our visitors' needs related to our web site design. IP addresses are not linked to personally identifiable information. Our site's optional information request forms require your name, company, e-mail address, as well as information to help us determine your needs related to our solution. We use this information to send updates about our company and contact you if requested or necessary. You may opt-out of receiving future mailings; see the choice/opt-out section below. When you receive an updated profile form, that information comes from our database of the information you have provided us when you registered for the site, or from your subsequent updates of your personal information.

Cookies

A cookie is a small piece of data stored on your computer by your browser. We use both session cookies and persistent cookies. A session cookie terminates once you close your browser. A persistent cookie is a small text file stored on your device for a longer period, and can be removed at any time by following your browser's help file directions.

We use cookies for three purposes. First, to keep you signed in, so that you do not have to enter your password more than once — that cookie is necessarily associated with your account. Second, to remember which Guide or campaign referred you, from the point you arrive to the point you register, so that a referral is credited correctly; that record expires on its own after a limited period. Third, to measure in aggregate how our pages and marketing perform. Apart from the sign-in cookie, the cookies we set are not used to build a profile of you personally.

If you reject cookies you may still use our site, but you will be limited in some areas. In particular, you will not be able to sign in or create an account, because the sign-in cookie is what keeps you authenticated from one page to the next.

Log Files

Like most standard Web site servers we use log files. This includes internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, platform type, date/time stamp, and number of clicks to analyze trends, administer the site, track user's movement in the aggregate, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. IP addresses, etc. are not linked to personally identifiable information unless necessary to enable our Web-based service for the end user.

Clear Gifs (Web Beacons/Web Bugs)

We employ a software technology called clear gifs (a.k.a. Web Beacons/Web Bugs) only for formatting purposes, and do not track any site activity. Clear Gifs can "work with" existing cookies on a computer if they are both from the same Web site or advertising company. That means, for example, that if a person visited "www.companyX.com", which uses an advertising company's clear gif, the Web would match the clear gif's identifier and the advertising company's cookie ID number, to show the past online behavior for that computer. In addition, we use clear gifs in our HTML-based emails to let us know which emails have been opened by the recipients. This allows us to gauge the effectiveness of certain communications and the effectiveness of our marketing campaigns. If users would like to opt-out of these emails, please see the Opt-out section.

Service Announcements

On rare occasions it is necessary to send out a strictly service related announcement. For instance, if our service is temporarily suspended for maintenance we might send users an email. Generally, users may not opt-out of these communications, though they can deactivate their account. However, these communications are not promotional in nature.

Sharing and Usage

We will never sell or rent your individual personal information. We will not share it except as described in this statement, with your advance permission, or where we are required to by law or by order of a court. Within KendallTodd, access to the information you submit is limited to the people who need it to operate the service and to respond to you.

We rely on a small number of third-party service providers to run the platform — for example to authenticate your sign-in, process payments, deliver email, and host our systems. Each receives only the information it needs to perform its function, and is not permitted to use your information for its own purposes.

Separately, if you work with a Guide, that Guide is given access to your information. That sharing is described in the next section.

Sharing With Your Guide

If you choose a Guide or are matched with one, that Guide is given access to the information you have entered — including the financial details behind your plan, such as your income, expenses, debts, balances and rates, along with the goals, dates and notes you record. This is the core function of the guided service: the Guide cannot review your plan with you without seeing it.

Guides are independent contractors, not employees of KendallTodd. They are required to keep your information confidential and to use it only to provide services to you. A Guide can see only the clients assigned to them, and cannot see the records of any other person using the platform.

Every account is matched with a Guide when it is created, whether or not you ever choose to work with one — so a Guide has access to your information from the start of your account. You are never obliged to engage them, and no charge arises from the match itself.

If we matched you with a Guide, you may choose a different one at any time before you activate paid service. If you arrived through a particular Guide's own link, that Guide stays with your account. Deleting your account removes all Guide access as part of the erasure described in our Security statement.

A Guide may ask your permission to obtain a credit report or other information about you from a third party in connection with a specific scenario. That is a separate request, it requires your affirmative authorization at the time it is made, and you are free to decline. KendallTodd itself does not obtain credit reports about you and does not pull your credit for any purpose.

Business Transitions

In the event KENDALLTODD goes through a business transition, such as a merger, being acquired by another company, or selling a portion of its assets, users' personal information will, in most instances, be part of the assets transferred. Users will be notified via email or prominent notice on our Web site for 30 days prior to a change of ownership or control of their personal information. If as a result of the business transition, the users' personally identifiable information will be used in a manner different from that stated at the time of collection they will be given choice consistent with our notification of changes section.

Referral Links

Guides and partners may share a personal link to our site. When you arrive through one, we record which link you followed, so that if you later register the referral is credited to the right person and you keep seeing the Guide whose link you followed. Those records hold only the identifier of the referring link and a random identifier for your browser — not your name, your email, or anything you have entered.

Three stores are involved, and they last for different lengths of time. A cookie recording the link expires after 30 days. A copy held in your browser’s local storage stays on your device until you clear your browsing data or arrive through a different link that replaces it — we do not expire it on a timer. Third, we set a cookie holding a random identifier for your browser, and keep a matching record on our own servers noting which Guide that identifier belongs to. That pair lasts up to 365 days from your most recent visit, and each visit restarts the clock. Clearing site data in your browser removes the cookies and the local-storage copy; the record on our servers cannot be reached without the cookie, and is deleted automatically once its 365 days have run out.

We do not sign anyone up on someone else's behalf. You are only added to our mailing lists by your own action, and every marketing email we send carries an unsubscribe link in its footer and a one-click unsubscribe control in your mail application. Not every message carries one, and we would rather say so than imply otherwise: messages that are part of the service itself — billing and payment notices, security notices, confirmations of something you asked for, and the activity reports we send Guides about their own practice — are not marketing, and stop when the account they belong to is closed. You can also ask us to stop any of them at any time. If you believe you were added to a list without your consent, or you want any information about you removed from our database, contact us at kendalltodd@gmail.com and we will remove it.
